How NovaCraftHost payment works: what happens after you click Create Server

NovaCraftHost payment works in two steps. First you create your server, then you approve the PayPal subscription that pays for it. The step that catches people out is the second one, so this page walks through exactly what happens on screen after you click Create Server.

What happens after you click Create Server

Clicking Create Server does two things. NovaCraftHost saves your order, including the plan you picked, your server name, and your Minecraft version. Then your browser is sent to PayPal so you can approve the subscription. Until you approve, no payment has gone through and your server is not online yet.

You approve on PayPal's own screen

Approval happens entirely on PayPal's website, not on NovaCraftHost. You sign in to PayPal and confirm the subscription there. NovaCraftHost never sees your PayPal password or your payment details. If you are not already signed in, PayPal asks you to sign in first and then shows you the subscription to approve.

Do not close the tab until you approve

Keep the PayPal tab open until you have confirmed the subscription. Closing it early does not lose your order, but it leaves the payment unapproved, so your server will not come online. When you are ready, you can pick up where you left off.

What happens if you close the tab

Nothing is charged and nothing is lost. Your order is saved as PendingPayment. You can sign in to NovaCraftHost, open your server page, and select Complete Server Setup. Your chosen plan, name, and Minecraft version are all still waiting for you.

How to complete your server setup

Sign in at novacrafthost.com, open your server page, and select Complete Server Setup. If your previous approval link expired, Complete Server Setup creates a fresh one automatically. You are not charged until you approve on PayPal.

No. For subscriptions created through the PayPal API, PayPal does not email an approval link. The approval link is returned to NovaCraftHost the moment the subscription is created, and your browser is sent straight to it. If you close that tab, the link is not emailed to you later. Am I charged before I approve?

No. You are not charged until you approve the subscription on PayPal's own screen. Being sent to PayPal costs nothing, and no payment goes through before you confirm. The subscription starts only after you approve.
